from ? Did you buy it used from a dealer or was it a private sale ?
First check that the headlight lenses are specific to the country you are in. I am assuming that you are in the US or Canada so check the lens parts number and make sure they are meant for US/Canada.
There is no reason that you are blinding on coming traffic with low beam even with E-code lenses. Does your low beam work at all or maybe your car is always on high beam ?
Unless your headlight lenses are UK specs, then I would imagine the headlights would be way off.
