I didn't experience the oil consumption symptom mention in the link in Ian's message, but I did have the strong oil/exhaust odor in the cabin.
The small check valve and small diameter hoses in the PCV system had deteriorated to the point that they were only fragments of their original configuration. Result was engine gasses being released into the engine compartment directly in front of the cabin air inlet. No wonder the cabin stunk at times!
Had the Dealer repair mine, cost was parts, 0.2 hours labor, plus the usual taxes and fees. Easy repair. You will need a new check valve and between 1-2 feet of small diameter silicone hose. Repair kit from Saab that Dealer invoiced me for was around $45 IIRC. Check valve is under $20 from site sponsors if you can wait the few days for delivery.
