I asked about waxing sometime ago on the board and also got a LOT of replies. I have two black Saabs a '89 SPG and a '00 9-5 Gary Fisher Wagon. I wanted some opinions on all the new products and I got quite a few. My 2 cents. ALl the wisdom on washing is great. I use chenille mitts and P21S body wash and P21 S on the wheels. The stuff is expensive but it works great. I get it from Autodetail.com. For wax I use Liquid Glass and apply it with an orbital buffer in the garage and then bake it in the sun for a few hours to cure it. It's easy and looks great. No swirls, and a deep wet look shine without blotches. I was tempted to use some of the new prducts like zymol, zaino etc. but liquid glass has worked so well in the past. I have tremendous success with the product and my '89 SPG has a great looking finish after almost 12 years. Thats a proven track record. Im sure some of the new products work great too. You should wait as long as you can to let the paint cure (4 to 6 months) before waxing.
Drive Safe and enjoy the car. I don't know how anyone couldn't. The 9-5 is a pleasure to drive.
