My Saab 9-5 think's the boot's open when it's not

Had a problem a couple of weeks ago where my 2000 9-5 Estate tailgate door locked itself open. I managed to release it but ever since the car seems to 'think' that the boot is open i.e. the dashboard warning light shows the boot open and the boot courtesy lights remain on all the time.
The boot is definately shut and locks with the central locking.
Any ideas what I can get this back in sync??
