Not every tire has the same max PSI rating. That's your ceiling for air pressure so base any setting off that.
From there it takes some experimentation on your part. Your tires, your roads, your driving conditions, and your preferences determine where your tire pressures should be set. My 9-5 was a V6 and I prefered about 3psi more in the fronts than rears to get the car to feel the way I wanted.
You can start at 38/36 and adjust from there, if you'd like. After a few weeks of driving and adjusting I'm sure you'll find a setting which works for you.
