All 9-5's I've ever seen have a clearcoat. IIRC, there's a description of the paint process in the owners manual.
As for waxes, there are a zillion to choose from. Traditional carnauba-based waxes look nice but don't have great durability. Polymer sealant products last longer and offer a different look. If the Gliptone stuff worked for you previously and you liked it, keep using it.
I could recommend dozens of products depending on how much work you wanted to put into car care and what results you want, but I do suggest staying away from products that have harsh cleaners (chemical and abrasive) in them. If you car is new or newish there is no reason to use aggressive products.
