The vibration is most likely an unbalanced wheel, to start on the cheap side of the spectrum.
I would tend to agree on the bad shock theory, but it could also be tie rods and other suspension parts that you may be able to identify with a quick but thorough look underneath. Maybe you can put enough pressure on the car yourself by bouncing it and at least identify which corner of the car it is coming from.
