Night and Day does modify calibration Posted by dparadis [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: I believe the water sensor operates in the IR region..., TKC, Mon, 15 Dec 2003 06:50:06 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
...or so the manual says. Something about the night time sweeps needing to be more frequent...
I must say I am mostly disapointed with the system. Though I have been impressed with seeing the wipers speed up to max speed when passing a truck let's say (a neat active security system), other times it just doesn't work and needs to be turned off and back on again (manually).
This morning for example is a snowstorm in Montreal. Putting the defrost on and driving at city speeds means that falling snow is melting at the bottom of the windshield while the snow hitting the top part bounces off. Guess what,...the sensor is at the top.... It thinks things are just great while you are trying to figure out why the h... it ain't doing anything!!! Have to continously turn it on manually, like if I didn't have intermittant at all. Other instance as well where you can see water on the WS but nothing happens. IMHO, all it needs is a regular intermittant selection (for override).
Curious to hear how others like their rain sensing system...
