You could replace both if you want to but at the very least, buy two. Mine went out two weeks apart and I did have sense enough to buy two bulbs when the first one when. Learned this from lesson long ago on my previous car.
The drivers side light is real easy to change. Twist off the big plastic cover, disconnect the wires (the come straight off), unhook clip and the remove bulb, reverse the procedure to install the new bulb. Be careful not to touch the glass portion of the new bulb with your bare hands as this will reduce its life drastically. The passenger (right) side is a bit more difficult due to a lack of access (the air intake gets in your way), but it can be done.
