That in the previous 9000, you could add a trunk mounted changer from the dealer for about $300. Basically the same changeras far as quality goes, just not one that needed to be married to the head unit. As for the nav systems, your analogy is only partly correct. Integrating a nav ysytem which involves a GPS antenna that might be combined with the radio, and having it controlle by either steering wheelcontrols, voice commands, and integrated power supply is a bit more complex than plopping a Garmin street Pilot on top of your dashboard and pluging it in to the lighter socket. I find it easier to see whay that ought to cost more.Addressing the issue of the current car, and the current changer,the electronic "marriage" of the CD changer to the head unit is totally unneded.Making it this way solely benefits the dealer aftersales channel, and not the car owner.
