The basic service would probably be around $550.00 Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Fri, 26 Dec 2003 19:30:42 In Reply to: 60k mi Service $ ?, DSH, Fri, 26 Dec 2003 15:43:52 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
at an independant Saab shop WITHOUT the timing belt. Maybe a little bit more depending on the hourly rate.
The timing belt is a whole other story.
I would never replace the timing belt alone after seeing and hearing so many stories about the low quality tensioner/idler pulley system that they use on these engines.
Timing belt, tensioner assembly and one idler pulley comes up to around $560.00 parts and labor.
So the price at the dealer isn't bad if you can get them to install the tensioner assembly and just pay for that part. When they have the timing belt off the car, it isn't much labor to replace the tensioner.
Good luck
Anders
