Here is what you DON'T want to have happen when EBay

Here is the process for buying one of these things off of E-Bay and getting it programmed:
1) Buy the "guts" from someone who is parting out a wrecked Saab. There are NO non-OEM key remotes, or remotes available for Saab. Apparently they use some sort of proprietary "rolling" encryption. What you will get is a round insert that has the blue buttons on one side. This snaps into the "head" of the key.
2) Go to the dealer with your VIN and Order a $30 laser cut key with the key housing.
3) When the key arrives take ALL of your keys AND REMOTES to the dealer along with the module. Programming takes about an hour and my dealer charges $50.
Warning:
The module that I bought off of EBay was a European module and my dealer cannot program it (at least that is what the dealer said). I even flipped it over and saw the FCC numbers on the back which led me to believe it had been approved for use in the US. Apparently the security system is slightly different on the european version.
So far, I have wasted $35 on the module, two trips to the dealer and $50 for programming that did not work. The module itself costs $140 from the dealer without the programming. While your mileage may vary, you need to be aware of the risks BEFORE you deal with someone on E-Bay. I just found out today, so, I am hoping the guy who sold it to me will do the right thing and refund the money.
