more questions about reverse gear

Sometimes it is difficult for me to put my car in reverse gear so I can remove the key. Other times it slips in reverse easily. I was intrigued by the earlier post about disabling the key interlock so I could put my car in 1st gear instead. Anyone have ideas why reverse sometimes sticks but all my other gears are fine when I'm trying to remove the key after parking?
