My wife's 2000 95 wagon (30K miles) stalled on her last night. Starting it again was no problem but if she was not giving it gas it would sputter and stall. All the electrical systems worked fine. She made it home with the help of a friend. There was no indicators on the SID. The friend did an inspection and all hoses, fluids were fine. (I just did the 30K major maintenace before I left).
The car recently had the PCV modification done and I saw some more smoke on one start up before I left. The car has only 8K on the DI casette.
I am thinkg it is bad gas. If so, is the addition of techron or other additive a reasonable solution? Any cautions if it is bad gas?
Also although the car is under warranty, correct me if I am wrong. The transport to the dealer (about an hour away) is not covered because if I recall correctly, SAAB roadsie service expires after three years and the warranty after four. (The car is 3.7 years old)
I can communicate with her via email (sporadically) and should be able to ask her additional questions.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated? Thanks much MCC
