I believe you have to have a password (which only dealers have) to log on. I believe it's a web based system but I doubt they'll give us access to our full records.
I think it's the next big thing though - imagine, being able to logon to a 'My Saab' section of the Saab web page and being able to pull up the complete maintanence history of your vehicle. (Which authorized indie Saab dealers could also update). When a service bulletin comes out, you'd be automatically emailed a reminder to come in. I would imagine it would be great for Saab - they'd get the email addresses of all Saab owners and ocassionaly they would send out coupons for free oil-change/check-ups of the vehicle. If we go in and they've found something wrong (bad PCV hose, worn brakes, whatever) we're probably a lot more likely to give them our business.
This is not a complicated database problem. It would also be a handy tool for buyers of used Saabs. Just some thoughts
