My car is a 2002 Aero,auto transmission,and the last time I read the SID mileage prior to removing these tires for the wiinter,I was averaging about 28 MPG,with highway numbers at about 31. The trick here in determining if your mileage is lower with any single tire is that the tire is not the only variable. The pressure makes some difference,I usually run 38/36 F/R on mine. The tires I had on the car prior to this,Dunlop SP 9000's were on the car when the engine was still not fully broken in,so if the mielage readout was one MPG lower,I'll never know if the increase was from the extra time the engine got to run in or from the tires.
I think for me the bottom line is that you should not choose the tire for it's supposed contribution to fuel mileage,because you personally can affect mileage much more by your actions on the loud pedal. I drive very conservatively most of the time,and get better mileage with this model car than many others who have posted results here. To me, that implies that other variables like tires and fuel blend( winter vs. summer) do not make as much difference as a light foot on the gas. Give it a try.
