When the serpentine belt was changed, did you also check the belt pulleys? There are three, and on my '99 with 94K miles, the top/rearmost one made a whirring metallic noise. I removed it, and could clearly feel the bearing crunching when I spun it in my hand.
It is not too difficult to test the pulleys. Remove the tension from the belt by moving the tensioner into its locked position (I used a breaker bar with a 1/2" rachet extension bar on it... place it into the square hole, pull it forward, then place a nail in the provided hole) then just spin the pulleys (easier done from below) and feel if they turn smoothly or are rough. Replace the rough ones... instructions can be found by doing a search on this board.
