In driving about 6-8 years here in nH where the MBTE gas was used in the winter,I noticed about a 1-2 MPG drop overall. I find 10 MPG just hard to imagine,and think that one possibility that could have been encountered on a single trip is the possibility that you had headwinds on that trip up. Since air resistance is the single biggest thing that affects fuel economy,other than your right foot,chances are you had a headwind that accunts for such a huge difference. On my old 9000 Aero I once noted a five MPG difference on a trip to and from Altanta with ski racks and a bike on the roof going down, and coming home clean I got 5 MPG better. Air resistance is a big factor.
