My bad...drove a 9-3 Aero convert this weekend

So I was near my dealership this weekend and decided to stop by...unfortunately my favor saleswoman has left...a big bummer. However, I did get to drive the 9-3 Aero convert, 6 spd manual. Even had the top down (it was a balmly 43 degrees in DC on Saturday). All I can say is that I am smitten and could totally see owning this little dream. They had some beautiful '04 Aero wagons too (many of them manual), which certainly caught my eye, but I'm totally loving the convertible. There's one that parks in front of the Swedish Embassy across from my office that I admire each day.
Didn't find too much not to like, but the sound system is definitely not up to HK qualities (and is complicated to use), and I did find some flat spots in engine performance. Seat heaters work twice as fast as those in my 9-5. It definitely is a nice ride, not at all wiggly. Somehow my passenger thought the front seat area was bigger than my Aero, however with the front seats all the way back, there is absolutely no legroom in the back. I think my Golden Retriever would be a bit tight back there but would no doubt love the open air (with his Saab safety leash keeping him secure).
Oh well, a little dreaming...and who knows, maybe a reality for my 40th year...;-)
'02 Aero wagon, steel grey, 5 spd, still makes me smile.
