I went from Mavic 517 with XT hubs on my mountain bike a couple of years ago to Mavic Crossmax UST with Mavic hubs and I expected a nice difference, but WOW! Huge difference on acceleration, braking, suspension capabilities and climbing. Its the same thing when you upgrade to a lighter wheel on your car- but note that big heavy 18" chrome wheels are for looks, a true performance wheel is light and strong and just big enough to cover the brakes, hence my recommendation for 17" OZ Superlegerras
