A family member visiting Florida from Vermont had a "coil" go on his F150 P/U at 145,000 miles. It was on the number 8 cylinder. It cost him about $700 to repair. He drove a few hundred miles and guess what? The number four "coil" went. Another $800. If this is the norm for an American V8, can Saabs be so bad after all? I told him that I had replaced all four "coils" in my 9-5 for $320 as a preventive measure at 110,000 and now had a spare, he could nbot get over it. So I ask again, are Saabs so bad compared to other systems?
