I own a 2000lpt Sedan, so my insights are limited to my car being the same year and general model as yours. My answers were to someone new to Saab entirely who had asked some specific questions, so you probaly already know a bunch of this stuff.
Other points of interest though:
1) Saab improved the roll bars with the 2002 model year. If you want to push your Aero hard you may want to install the new stiffer ones, see Taliaferro.
2) The SID will almost surely fail, unles the earlier owner had the most recent version installed. Claimed to be better - we will all just have to wait and see.
3) PCV upgrade just announced in October '03. Details avaiable at Taliaferro again. Easy to inspect to see if it has been done on your engine (might be lpt only, not sure), will want it done if not already.
4) Idler pulleys are a weak link. Some posters are advocating replacement of pulleys at same time serpentine belt is replaced, i.e. 60,000 miles. Definitely shouldn't go past two belt changes.
5) And of course the DI Cassette issue, but that is in my other set of answers.
Enjoy your new car.
