After I had to replace a broken fog light, I purchased StonGard protective film for all my front lights. It is like thick rubber and has been on my car since September 2002 and has been great. In the 1 1/2 years, the StonGard on the fogs is turning a little colored and the StonGard on the headlights is scratched up from the windshield wipers. I may replace at the 2 year old mark of the StonGard being on. Cheap investment at only $59.95 vs. $150-$200 for 1 foglight assembly. I don't know the website offhand, it's probably easy to find, but their number is 425-646-0670, based out of Bellevue WA, I ordered through them and I dont believe there was a shipping cost to send it to Denver, but I could be wrong...
