Hi Luis,

I'm not a mechanic so take my advice with a grain of salt, but I did have the 60K service performed on my '00 Aero just last week, and that included replacing the serpentine belt and the pulleys. I think the pulley replacement wasn't originally called for in the manual, but I believe Saab now advises the pullyes be changed as well - that's what my mechanic told me. As far as the cigarette lighter, it sounds like you've blown a fuse for that outlet. Check the fuse first - if that looks fine, then check the outlet with a voltmeter but be careful to not short the positive terminal in the center with the rest of the metal outlet (it's easy to do, and then you likely will blow something).

Congrats on the car. I'm guessing whomever sold it, sold it now because they could avoid the cost of the 60K service. FWIW, I paid $600 from my local Saab indie for the 60K service w/ pulley replacement - I'm not sure what the dealer would charge for that. Be sure to read the previous posts on 'which oi'. All I'll say is to use some sort of fully synthetic (I won't say anymore or else it will start a flame war). I try to do my oil changes at 5K but if life gets in the way, I feel a little more comfortable delaying another 1K or so, if I'm using the fully syn.
