What about the short belt option??

Lots of discussion during the past weeks regarding pulley failures, but I have not yet seen confirmation of the rumored short belt option.
To recent readers, use of the shorter belt could completely avoid the center idler pulley, the toughest one to change and half of the possible failure modes.
Does this option truely exist? If so, what is the belt length or (better yet) part number of the short belt?
