Manual transmission fluid program.

Apparently there is a SAAB memo out now that allows for replacement of the pre mid- 02 switch to full synthetic manual tranny fluid on cars with sticky feeling shifters.
At 20000, I complained that I thought the shifting was sticky enough to warrant the switch, and the dealer said I would have to pay.
Now, at 30000, the dealer said SAAB had a memo or something to allow for the switchover. The tech said the previous stuff was mineral based, and the new stuff was full synthetic (type 4?), and as per previous posts, was not intermixeable.
The difference in shift quality was subtle, yet remarkable! There were no more missed gears (5th to 3rd ) and the whole effect was one of a slight increase in buttery assuredness of getting where you intend.
I felt a giddy new sense of control. Like after sharpening a dull kife.
The shifting went from B- to A-, and my love of the car increased proportionally. After only 40 miles, it still may improve a bit ? My 944 is still better.
I would recomend this procedure highly. It was well worth the 2 hours in the waiting room.
