10K service coming up

1. Oil. How dare I bring up this topic? Honestly, I have searched the relevent entries. I got a headache and the analgesic is just starting to kick in now, so I thought I'd post.
Specific situation is this: our 9-5 wagon lpt (really my wife's car) is due for 10 K mile service soon. We love the car and want it to last for twenty years (we actually went way over budget to get it but I think it's worth it). Most of her trips are intracity, stop and go (mostly stop, and she is hardly ever on the highway -- I'm noticing her avg speed is ~ 15 mph). My plan is to change oil every 5 K miles.
I am almost convinced that it's worth it to pay for the fully synthetic oil (or perhaps supply my own Mobil 1). Would most here agree? Full synthetic, changed every 5 K, to help prolong life? Please note the car is driven very, very gently (except when I'm behind the wheel).
2. Has Tech II service for reprogramming of headlights to Euro mode been included in anyone's routine service for free? Just trying to know what to ask for.
3. Does anyone have advice regarding specific items about which I should inquire at 10K service, as in things they might not do or check, but should?
