Today my wife crashed her Volvo 850 by jumping the curb and running into a cobra style light post at about 35 mph. The car was completely demolished, but the safety cage held, and she fortunataely walked away with only a few bruises from the air-bag forces. The attending police officer made mention of the fact that she would have been very seriously injured if in a less well designed car - truly a cause for both reflection and celebration as I have always favored safety over other features.

Two hours later we were at the Saab dealership where I made what I think is an excellent bargain on a new Aero Sedan for myself. She will be driving my 2002 9-5 Linear starting tomorrow.

Our dealer went below invoice and into his holdback $500.00, gave me the $5,000.00 factory incentive and the GM supplier incentive of $1,000.00 which, with my loyalty incentive, brought the cost down to about $35,000.00 for a loaded Aero in white exterior with the Sport Carbon Fiber interior, Xenon, Touring etc. True, I like the lines of the SW a little better, but now we have a wagon, a sedan, and the 9-3SS for our son, a complete Saab Trilogy.

I have always enjoyed reading the various posts here, and now have a new incentive to look and participate more often. Thanks.
