Lumpy Wagon Jamb

The rear doors on my '99 wagon (108K) have developed "lumps" on the trailing inside surface of the jambs just under the bottom of the rubber weather-stripping and about the size of an oval half-dollar. The raised paint is perfectly smooth (not bubbly like typical rust blisters), but it is rust none-the-less. I've had well over a baker's dozen Saabs in my family over the past 30+ years, along with their share of rotted floor boards ("96's"), rusted-out fender-wells ("99's" & early "900's") and bottoms of doors ("9000's"), but I've never experienced rusted door jamb problems before. My wife's & daughter's 9-5 sedans (also '99's) don't show these symptoms, so I'm curious if any other early 9-5 wagon owners have experienced anything similar?? I love the car, but it's hard to believe something like this on a 4-1/2 year old car, especially when the rest of the car's finsh is still in showroom condition. I'll appreciate any insight the BB can offer.
