Actually price discussion is a moot point now as I've just went ahead and purchased a used DI for $207. The DI is from a wrecked 2002 9-5 w/ 28K miles with a part number of TK 3.4D 0145 (Mfg'd in early Nov 2001). I think I've seen similar pricing on NIB units on eBay, but this DI needs only to work long enough to get me to the dealership once my current DI fries itself. It sucks that Saab forces us to shell out extra cash just so we can have peace of mind when taking road trips, but I'd rather shell out $200 now, than be stranded at the side of the road and ruin a weekend.
The folks at Goldwing (Saabnet sponsor) seem real helpful and their supply of used Saab parts seems extensive. I picked up a rear center headrest, and a couple other parts which I got great pricing on, so I was happy with the overall pricing.
Now, if only I could justify paying for ventilated seats.
