I assume that your wheel diameter is 16"? If so your stock size is a 215/55/16. That is a fairly common size for some decent performance tyres.
Depending on what you would like to spend, you have a lot of choices.
If you would like the most bang for the buck, you can go with Dunlop SP Sport W-10 (approx $85 per tyre). Or if you are flagrant with your money, it's hard to beat Pirelli P-Zero's(approx $135 per tyre). Last but not least, & if you dont plan on sending the kids to college, then go for the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position (approx $180 per tyre).
These are just a few of my personal picks, there are many other tyres out there to choose from.
If I had to make a choice though, I would pick the P-Zero System Direzionale. They can be picked up at the Tire Rack (800.445.0179 Ext. 328 [Rick Barth]) for around $125.ºº per tyre.
Brian.
