It is an truly an excellent unit and it actually looks pretty good sitting on the dashboard of my Charcoal interior Aero. True, it is not a built in model, but the unit is as good as any original equipment system.
Garmin uses Compact Flash cards to hold the map data, and they are as fast as DVD based systems, and much faster than CD based systems. You can even put the entire US on one card if you want to spring for a 2Gig CF card. A new model 2620 was just announced which uses a little hard drive to hold the maps.
