Quicker than SaabUSA said . . . and now less stinky Posted by Saabdude [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() |
I thought I would update you on my quest for accurate/favorable 0-60 times for the 2003 Aero (despite the weak interest the first time!). SaabUSA had previously told me 7.8 (auto). This not sounding right, I did some more digging and found this data on ModernRacer.com:
Saab Aero 2003-2003
> Top speed : 150 mph
> 0-60 mph : 6.6 sec.(manual), 6.9 sec.(automatic)
> 0-¼ mile : 15.2 sec @ 94.4 mph
> 60-0 braking distance : 125 ft
> 200 ft skidpad : 0.83 g
When I inquired about the difference, a very responsive gentleman named Mash Chowdry replied, "The 0-60 mph time on ModernRacer.com is 100% correct. What "they" misquoted to you is the 0-60 time for the slower 9-5 SE 200 hp V6 automatic model."
Sounds good enough for me.
And per the second part of my headline, I switched over the weekend from Shell Premium to BP/Amoco ultra, and the hint of sulpher (or as my kids were saying, "Phew, Dad, was that you??") is already completely gone. I know Shell was recommended, but the stuff I was getting in Maryland for the last couple months was definitely causing an odor. I'll stick with BP and refill often so I don't run out in front of a Marathon station.
