Mr. oil nerd sir :-)
May I ask your opinion - I read that townsend avail SI on Saab oil recs recently (euro market I guess) where it mentions Saab or M1 0W-40 as factory fill and recommended now for all Saab models, down to the C900 (as I read it).
The old (91) SPG owners manual spec was for 10W-30, pre-syn days of course. I switched over to M1 10W-30, then 5W-30 - what I run now. As I understand it - Saab liked 10W-30 back then because of turbo heat probs with wider visc range additive packages for dino oils, I assume not a prob. with syn.
If you had your druthers, in a New England climate would you run A3 0W-40 in a low mileage SPG or just stick with A5 spec 5W-30? (I still have a few oil changes worth of M1 5W-30 on the shelf).
TIA
