Thanks for the comment but snow is not an issue as I use dedicated snow tires and wheels.
Others suggest I should go the other way but I wonder if half and inch less in width will be noticeable. That's why I am curious to know if someone did it. I think changing for Aero sway bars or/and coil springs would improve handling.
On the other hand, looking up Tire Rack concerning Stephen's suggestion (BF Goodrich Traction T/A), turns out it's like Roger says in his post: 225/60/16 are 10$ cheaper than stock 215/55/16, which does not seem to be a very common size.
Ah! I just loved my 76 99. I can still hear the sympathetic purr of that engine.
