Don't feel like the lone ranger on that one. My 2000 Aero manual has done the same thing a few times in the last month or so. Don't know if it is the clutch switch, battery or something else. So far it only happens when the car is warm and not very often then. Never any problems in the morning or after sitting all day at work. Definitely not the DI if it isn't turning over. Mine always starts after a few tries or a few minutes so it hasn't gotten to the critical level yet. Will add it to the list of thing for the dealer to look at when I take it in for the 30,000 mi. service later this month. If I had to take a wild guess though I would bet on me coming away from the service with a new battery.
