I'd be a bit surprised it were actually just Delvac 1 repackaged. Delvac 1 has special additives to help it stand up to the rigours of a turbo diesel engine including the oil contaminants. While it is a fantastic oil for diesels, it is quite expensive and may not have the appropriate additives for a gasoline turbo engine. I know one of the Mobil web sites has more detailed information regarding recommended applications. I'm not sure that a 5w-40 is going to give you any more "protection" than a 0w-40. Certainly the viscosity RANGE is lower but then you give up the presumably faster circulation of a 0w oil at startup. I'm sure more knowledgeable persons on this board could give you more comprehensive direction.
Personally, I would stick to a fully synthetic rated AS3 designed for a gasoline turbo engine.
Good luck!
