Springs are color coded depending on their stiffness. For example, a black spring might offer a soft ride while a purple one might offer a stiff ride. So unless you want to change the dynamics of your car, you should use the same color coded spring that came with the car.
As for the strut, I am assuming you have a leaking strut "insert". This is the only replaceable item in the strut assembly, and is equivalent to a shock absorber. Buying a used strut insert is pretty foolish, IMHO, since their cost is not too high for a new one, and after you go through the pain and agony of getting the strut out and disassembled (it is not a job for the faint of heart), you'll want a new one in there so you won't have to do it again.
