It's pretty easy to do, if you have vise (or two feet), drill etc.
Most of what's listed in the procedure for removing the oilbox is overkill. I managed to undo it from above, not disturbing anything else. (disconnect battery though, so's not to short the alternator accidentally).
The kit's about $30-35. That and two drill bits, wrenches and the instructions and you're home free. I'd say the dealer would probably charge an hour labor.
Personally, I'd look for a bit of tubing to insert in the oilbox tube to guide the bit while you drill it out, so's not to eat into the wall. The original smaller hole is offset (at least on mine). Compressed air is nice to blow out the drilling debris too. I guess I might swish it out with gasoline as a substitute.
