Its now Sunday at 6:30 and I have had the 04 ARC Wagon auto since yesterday at 10AM. I have put over 250 miles on it.
For the first hour driving it I noticed an apparent difference in initial torque, pep, etc as compared to the AERO. I have been drving it aggresivley making sure not to rev past 4K. The car is learning however and this afternoon I really think the car is behaving more and more like the AERo especially in Sport mode. Ican hardly tell the differnece. The 5 speed is very very smooth as compare to the 4 speed. The brakes are the exact same as my 01 Aero. Tons of brake dust already. The radio is slightly weaker but not by much. I like the softness of the suspension as compared to the AERO and have had no hard jarring bumps when going over Massachusetts potholes. (always with the AERO)
I have taken highway ramps at very fast speeds and have no issue with this. The AERO was great for these.
The leather seats (in front anyway) seem to be thicker and more likley to hold up better. Overall I love the car. I will be buying new tires for my 17" AERO wheels and will put these on in the near future. I kept the safety triangle as well as the cargo bolts and cargo net. I will be keeping the ARC 16" wheels/tires for my winter use.
It took my wife until Sunday am to notice the new car. She thought I had the 01 Aero detailed. My 5 year old notices the most mudane things.. She noticed that the car no longer has litte mesh pockets behing doors on a-pillar, she also said "Dad its missing the button back here" meaning she noticed it does not have a rear heated seat. (incidentlly we never used it as I still have 2 car seats in the back.) also missing the weather band. (no big deal as i hardly ever used and we do go boating alot and live near the ocean)
Happy Sabbing
