instrument cluster removal instructions?

I've traced the fuel gauge problem on my '99 9-5 to the gauge itself. The sender puts out the correct resistance (400 ohms full, around 30 empty), and I've traced the wires up to the dash, and they register the right ohms.
In the warmer weather we've had the past few days here in NJ, the gauge has started to work again. The '99 is a moving coil instrument, while in 2002, the gauges became stepping motor instruments. I imagine the moving coil is stuck somehow in cold weather, and as things warm up, it frees up.
So the first thing I want to do is remove the instrument cluster (it is one complete part) and see if I can clean out or lube the gauge. If that doesn't work, I have a line on one from a wreck (can't buy new, since the older cluster is incompatible with the old).
Does anyone have instructions to remove the instrument cluster? It looks like the "wooden" dash inlay must come out first, then the cluster can be popped out.
