More non turbo Saabs..hmmmm.. Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Thu, 22 Apr 2004 11:13:30 In Reply to: Aero Academy was a blast..., Ganesh, Thu, 22 Apr 2004 09:19:25 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
First non turbo 9-2X Linears and then 9-5 non turbos too. I wonder if the terminology was the source of denial. The likely canidate for a future Saab V-6 would be the Global V6 found in the Cadillac CTS which is not a Northstar V6 technically. The Northstar V6 was the 3.5l in the Olds Aurora and Intrigue aka Shortstar, a Northstar with two cylinders lopped off.
Do you suppose Saab will get a different displacement version of the Global V6, say 3.2l and only 235hp? The Global V6 has the right stuff vs the old Saab-CTS design. It's now a chain drive cam setup with variable valve timing and all aluminum too.
"9-5 due 2006" doesn't really contradict what I feel, that it will be later in 2006 as a model year 2007.
Wouldn't it be swell if factory satellite nav could be dealer installed? Otherwise cars with nav will be tough to sell after the initial rush. I've used the 9-3SS system in Sweden and it works well.
Somehow I have to wrangle Saab out of an Aero Academy invite, or buy a new Aero.
