I bought a '99 9-5 wagon a year ago, 2.3 lpt, auto tranny, from an independent. I have put 11K additional miles on it since then (now 48K) and the only three significant items that have gone wrong is the Turbo unit, SID display (both warranty) and a thermostat (non-warranty). The factory warranty sheet is basically clear. You didn't say whether you'll be considering used or new. If new, I think the "bugs" have been worked out. If used, follow standard procedure and have a qualified Saab mechanic check it out and get a factory warranty sheet from a dealer. I have been driving Saab's since 1984. I love these cars! Good luck!
