oil sludge / oil pressure warning light?

If the engine oil pickup screen is clogged, would there be a liklihood that the oil pressure warning light would behave differently?
For instance, would it take a little longer to go off after a cold start?
Might be worth figuring out.
My problem is that I would love to get a oil sample to Blackstone on the old 9000 that hasnt been run since my son went off to college. With 133,000 mi on it, I actually hate to run it the requsite 40 miles prior to the oil sample. The Syntec looks clean on the stick, so there may be no problem, however the turbo coked last fall, and I hate to risk the new one after such a long winter sit.
On my 02 9-5, the oil light goes off within 1/2 second of the first cylinder hit. The 9000 takes perhaps a full second. Not much difference, but is this significant?
Or am I grasping at straws where a real oil pressure guage is the only real solution?
