I recently purchased a 1999 Saab 9-5. Since the SID had quite a number of missing pixels (which is a common problem as I learned later), I got myself a replacement for the unit.
After putting it in, it now sais "SID UNPROG" right after I start it up. It goes away within a couple of seconds, but I am not quite sure if this "missing programming" may affect other things that I haven't come accross yet.
Does anyone know anything about this? Does one have to bring the car to a shop for programming?
Any help is appreciated.
