On the V6 engine the timing belt has to be removed to access front engine seal and it's best left to a Saab mechanic.
On the 4 cyl engine the tough part could be to loosen the 27mm bolt holding crank pulley to crank shaft. If you have an air impact gun it's really easy but otherwise you need to figure out a way to hold the engine still while loosening the bolt.
The crank pulley slide right of after bolt and serpentine belt has been removed.
The oil leak could also be from the oil pump O-ring (not the engine seal).
To remove the snap ring for oil pump you need a big (read huge) snap ring plier.
The oil leak could also be due to that the PCV update has not been performed.
