PCV hoses goes through hell over and over again with heat and oil fumes and through the years it has been many different setups on the Saabs and Volvos.

On the older 900/9000 they turned rock hard but at least they lasted as long as you didn't try to bend them in any way.

Who knows what the underlying reason is for all this oil sludge and rotted hoses and seepage of oil.

Here's a pic of the latest one. A 2000 9-3 with 39K miles. Customer stated that he had been to the dealer at 10, 20 and 30K miles but was 12 days out of warranty and didn't have enough proof of service for the warranty to kick in.
