I had my car into the dealership last week for some work (paint cracks, DI, SID), and I asked them to perform the PCV update. My understanding is if the customer complained about oil consumption, they would perform the fix. When I got my car back I was told that because they couldn't see any oil leaks my car didn't need it. I was a little dissapointed as I'm wondering if performing this update could help avoid a problem. I shouldn't be too concerned as I'm selling my car in the next month, but I would like to have given the next owner a vehicle which had all the major items already taken care of (even if they weren't aware of the need): DI, SID, T7 upgrade, paint cracks fixed, PCV, etc.
Has anyone else here noticed resistance when asking dealers to perform this correction.
