The 4 cyl water pump can be left alone until it starts to leak (IF you want to wait 'til then).
What you need to keep in mind though is that the 4cyl engines waterpump pulley have a chance to tilt sideways and eat a hole in the timing cover if the water pump bearings start to go without showing a leak.
The reason I mentioned water pump on the V6 engine is because at 120K it is a good idea to do the thermostat together with timing belt work because of the reduced labor, and subsequently do the water pump too because of Murphy's law and very reduced labor.
Water pump is "right" there on the V6 when doing timing belt and since the cooling system is emptied during the 120K it could be a good idea to have it over and done with.
