Oil Leak...Need Help

Just did a 1650mile trip last weekend from southern maine to finger lakes of new york. Car was ready for a oil change, and did one the nght before we left.
About 650 miles into trip was cruizing around Cornell University and saw smoke coming from the engine area. Opened the hood and more smoke, smelled like burning oil. Drove the front end up onto a curb and crawled under. Found new (still light color) oil on the bottom of the oil pan. Engine was hot so did not stick my hand in all that many areas but could not find the source of the leak. Cleaned the bottom of the pan, and keep a close eye on it. never saw a puddle, never got an light, checked oil level many time, has not dropped.
So today the smell is back, and some smoke from the engine area when i got to work. burning is coming from the oil hitting cat convertor.
Have a free weekend to work on car and need to address this issue, any in-sight would be greatly appreaciated.
